Background: In this study the following question had to be answered: How are the effects of two different osteopathic technics on the Chopart-joint of the hindfoot´s force-time-integral.
Method: In an observation study the feet of 27 female test persons have been before and after the osteopathic measured and treated. The persons were between 15 and 69 years old. All patient had ankle sprain in one or two feeds older than an half year. Their Body-Mass-Index was about 24,55 +/- 4,47 kg/m² and they were about 176,07 cm +/- 10,45cm tall. The examination was carried out with a sensoric insole made by the GeBioM Mobile Data Funk Company. The measured was the force-time-integral. The test persons have been measured before and after the osteopathic intervention. The first measurement has been compared and judged with a second one.
Result: The measurement shows, that the osteopathic intervention on the Chopart-joint causes a significant change of the hindfoot´s force-time-integral. The first measurement in the hindfoot produced 170.69 Ns +/- 53.87Ns while the second one produced 147.42 Ns +/- 43.64 Ns.
Discussion: The study shows, that the osteopathic intervention of the Chopart-join achieves a positive influence on the hindfoot´s force-time-integral. It is very important to the foot that it´s function after to the health in order to avoid consequential damage caused by higher pressure. These insights can have positive effects on the treatment of a diabetic foot, also for the therapy to the foot by ankle sprain..
